Construction Craft
FAQS
What is Apprenticeship?
Apprenticeship is a relationship between an employer
and an employee during which the worker (the apprentice) learns a craft.
You “earn while you learn” through a combination of on-the-job training and

The teaching covers techniques of the craft and also the theory behind
the techniques. Classes are held

On-the-job training (OJT) – apprentices work and learn
under experienced people known as Journeypersons. Under their guidance, the apprentices learn every aspect of
their craft over time. Depending on the craft, apprenticeships usually last two
to five years.

geographical area.
