Cleveland, OHVaughn Industries of Carey, Ohio has been awarded the Chairman’s Cup in recognition of the construction project of the year as a part of the Northern Ohio Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors' (ABC) 2007 Excellence in Construction Awards.

Independent judges, representing a cross-section of construction industry experts, found the Blanchard Valley Region Health Care Center in Findlay, Ohio to be the most impressive project of 2007.

"The Blanchard Valley Regional Health Care Center is impressive in its magnitude, but it was Vaughn Industries’ professional craft workers and management team that breathed life into a building that will assist generations of residents with their health care needs," said David Mielke, Chairman of the Board of ABC and presenter of the Chairman’s Cup.

Vaughn was among four finalists for the Chairman’s Cup, awarded annually for the project judged to be the best of the year. Three points separated Vaughn from its finalist competitors. Simonson Construction Services of Ashland, Bay Mechanical and Electrical (Lorain), and Hummel Construction of Ravenna were the other finalists for the prestigious award.

Among the fifteen awards presented at the Downtown Cleveland Hilton Garden Inn was the Diamond Safety Award. Winners were selected among three divisions; general contractors, specialty contractors and construction managers. The winners were Janotta and Herner (Monroeville), Bay Mechanical and Electrical (Lorain), and Baywest Construction Group (Westlake).

In all, four Awards of Merit were presented to: Clouse Construction (New Reigel), Vaughn Industries (Carey), and two to Janotta and Herner (Monroeville).

Additionally, eight Awards of Excellence were presented to: R.J. Martin Electrical Contracting (Bedford Heights), Janotta & Herner (Monroeville), Hummel Construction (Ravenna), Simonson Construction Services (Ashland), Kuhlman Builders (Ottawa), Bay Mechanical and Electrical Services (Lorain), and two to Vaughn Industries (Carey).
